Mini-Mites
Can your player pick themselves up off the ice and manage to skate on their own for a bit? If yes, then he/she is ready for Mini-Mites! This is our entry level hockey program for our youngest players where they will work on skating, learn basic hockey skills, and have fun! The program runs twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays. Our dedicated coaching staff will facilitate practices but we are always looking for parent coaches to help out!
Ages
Ages 4-6 and those older kids that may need a little extra help with skating.
When
Season runs from mid-September through early-March.
Where
Practices and home games are held at the Northbrook Sports Center.
Practices
Practices are 2 times per week and are a combination of skill development and cross ice scrimmages. Practice times are typically on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturdays: 9:10am-10:10am
Sundays: 12:10pm-1:10pm
Games
All games are cross ice. In addition to games against other Northbrook teams, Mini-Mites will also compete against teams from neighboring hockey clubs.
Jerseys
Players will receive a Northbrook Bluehawks reversible jersey and hockey socks at the beginning of the season.

Shin pads, hockey pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, athletic supporter with velcro to attach hockey socks, helmet, neck guard, hockey gloves, hockey skates, and a stick (wood with flat blade is perfect!)
